- Background
- HSPB1, also known as heat shock protein 27(Hsp27), belongs to the small heat shock protein family which is induced in response to environmental challenges or/and developmental transitions. It is also an anti-apoptotic protein that plays crucial roles in tumorigenesis and cell survival and is reported to be an independent prognosis marker for cancer. Recently HSPB1 has been found to be a valuable marker for melanoma. In addition to the predicted 27 kDa, an extra 50-55 kDa representing dimeric form of HSPB1 may also be observed.(21353161)

At 2-8 °C unless the datasheet says otherwise. Do not freeze a kit that is not marked for freezing.
How long is an opened kit stable?
It depends on the component. The Kit Components table on this page lists the storage condition for each item after opening.
What should I do if the shipment arrives warm?
Photograph the package and contact us the same day. Do not use the kit until we have confirmed it is still within specification.

My background is too high. What should I check?
The usual causes are insufficient washing, contaminated buffers, or too much detection antibody. Our Protocol pages cover the full troubleshooting sequence.
Can I run fewer wells than the kit provides?
Yes. Dismountable microplates let you use part of a plate and reseal the rest with the desiccant supplied.
